So what exactly is happening in Wildwood?

There will be about 50-60 students (from all across the nation), including myself who are going to take part in this summer mission trip. The point of the trip is to go to Wildwood, and get a part time job working 20-30 hours per week; this will be used as our platform for ministry. The ten weeks that I am in New Jersey will be used to witness to coworkers and build relationships with people there in order to witness to them. Not only will I have the opportunity to witness to co-workers with whom I am building realtionships, but the environment that I will be surrounded in will help in developing me personally for spiritual leadership and ministry skills to equip me for ministry back on campus.

One of the largest parts of this trip is the fact that I am stepping out on faith and trusting in God to provide for me. We have to raise $2,850 plus transportation and food expenses for this mission trip. The biggest way to do this is reaching out to the community and asking them to let God lead them in supporting me in this chapter of my life that God is calling me to. Last week I sent out support letters to many family members, church members, and family friends. In my letter I explained that the purpose of it was purely twofold. The first and most important purpose of the letter was to ask for prayer and support (which is what I would also like to ask of anyone who is reading this) for me and our team. This trip is going to stretch my faith as I do things that I have never done before and learn to step out of my comfort zone. I asked for prayers for spiritual preparation before we leave for our trip as well as while we are there. Lastly, I asked that they would pray for us that we would effectively share the Gospel while we are at Wildwood. The second part of the letter was explaining that in order for me to be able to go on this trip, I have to raise support for myself. I asked that they would prayerfully consider joining me on this mission trip by giving some of the resources that God has entrusted to them. I asked that only if God places the desire in their hearts that they would join in supporting me.

As of today, April 23, God has already provided $386 only a week after sending out support letters. I can not wait to see God continue to work through this support process and bring glory to His name and His alone.
