Day 5

Okay so this is day 5 here at Wildwood and I am having such much fun, meeting so many incredible people, and beginning to do some outreaches. I want to try to fill you in on what I have been doing the past three days since I was on here. First off, we are divided into "team groups" which is kind of like our little bible study/our little family, we live together. Friday morning our leader fixed breakfast for us which consisted of my most favoriteee breakfast foods :) (biscuits, chocolate chip pancakes & bacon) it doesn't get much better than that! :) After we ate we had our first bible study as a group and it was great :) we are going to be reading through Galatians this summer so I am pretty excited about that! After that we had a training session kind of preparing us for what we are going to be doing this summer and also our visions for this summer. We went through a packet called "5 things" and it was basically a process in helping us to prepare for the individual outreach that we will prepare on our own in our teams. The first thing we talked about was our Kingdom Vision, this being who do we want to target this summer and my group has really felt lead to international students. You would not believe how many international students come over here for the summer to work. So this summer, my group and myself are really going to be targeting this place. I got a job with my roommate Katherine at Morey's Pier as a games operator and the majority of the other employees are international students so we are going to be really reaching out to them, investing in them, and building relationships with them. On Saturday we woke up and had a huge prayer at the project house for this summer. After that people who hadn't found jobs went job searching and for those of us who have found jobs, we went and volunteered at the local church that is helping our team out a lot on their church workday. After this, we had another training session but this time it was "Round Robin" style. We had four different stations that we went to and they were the Gospel, the Holy Spirit, Evangelism Roadmap, and tools-making new friends. All of the training that we are getting is very helpful in preparing us to go out and share our faith with the Wildwood community this summer. After we went through this training we set out on the boardwalk in pairs to meet some people, get to know them, and present the Gospel to them if the opportunity arose. I was able to meet three girls when me and my partner Emily went out, one was from Russia, one from an East Asia county, and one from Bulgaria. I got to talk to them and even exchanged contact information with one of the girls. I am going to be going when I get off work to talk to these girls and just try to really build a relationship with them, gain their trust, and then share the Gospel with them as the Spirit leads me. After the outreach, we had dinner and then split into our teams and had Soul-to-Soul. This is basically when we share our entire life stories with our roommates just basically leading up to where we are today. It was absolutely incredible! We began at 7 and was supposed to end at 11... my team didn't end until 1am. It was amazing to hear each girl's story, how God had been so faithful to each and everyone of us, and to realize how God has used the brokenness in each and every one of our lives to mold us into the person together. It was evident to us through this sharing that God had placed each one of us in this room for a reason.. we were each able to connect with atleast one aspect of each person's life. It was realllyyyy incredible to see how God has been there for each one of us and has always so graciously taken care of us. This is basically up-to-date for every one to right now. I will keep you posted as I can :) Please keep praying for our team and for the members who still need jobs. Also please keep me in your prayers because God is definitely working in my life. I had some distractions thrown at me by the enemy right before I came and so I just really need to get completelyyyyy focused on my awesome Savior and let Him do His work in and through me this summer. And also, to my friends and family following... i miss you all and love you very much!
