"God created us for this: to live our lives in a way that makes him look more like the greatness and the beauty and the infinite worth that he really is. This is what it means to be created in the image of God." -John Piper

A New Sister in Christ :)
So, I will definitely backtrack sometime soon and bring you up to date on everything that has been going on but right now I am toooo excited about what happened today so I have to share! :) Today was our last outreach of summer project. For the outreach we were having a Tug-O-War tournament on the beach. The object was to get as many people as we could to play on the beach and we initiate conversations with them hopefully leading into spiritual conversations in between the matches. Well I had a really good time at the event but did not really have any great conversations. At the end of the event we were cleaning up and my friend Kayla asked me if I wanted to take a walk down the beach and try to start a conversation with someone on the beach? Well, I was not in the best mood but I agreed to go with her (I have to be honest I was not really feeling it at first, I had kind of became discouraged with the conversations I had been having with people, feeling like they were not in my eyes "successful.") after walking for a little bit down the beach we both could sense we were a little more than "off" in our attitudes so we both thought it would be a good idea to stop, sit down, and pray. We walked a little bit up the beach trying to get away from the majority of the people to pray. We both prayed for a little while to the Lord just pouring our hearts out to Him and asking Him to give us new attitudes and boldness for Him. After we prayed we sat there for about a minute looking around for someone to talk to, Kayla said how about those people right there to the left? I was like sure! and we went and started a conversation with them. The girl we began talking to was Dora. We introduced ourselves explaining we were here with 45 other students with a Christian organization just serving this community and sharing the love of Jesus. We asked her if we could go through some Perspective Cards which is a tool to help in outreach. We went through and were able to see her beliefs and really just kind of get to know her and learn exactly how she felt about lots of different things. We asked how her relationship was with God, like was it a personal relationship? At the end of the cards we had the opportunity to ask if she would like to have a personal relationship with Christ like we had described that we have and her exact words were "I would love to!" I almost cried I was sooo excited. We exchanged contact information with her and prayed for her and then we had to head back home. After talking with a few other people on project I found out that the university that she is going to be attending in the fall is the same place were some of our staff on project are staff on campus. Now we have access to some incredible people who can help her get plugged into some awesome ministry programs on her campus. How awesome is our God?!!! I cannot stop smiling!! I am soooo excited! It is so powerful to me to see how God used Kayla and myself, broken, and me personally with a sucky attitude today spoke to us, humbled us, and then chose to use us to bring another daughter into His Kingdom! Thank you Jesus for using us in our brokenness! Thank you that you are so great!
